foster child adoption
adoption …. issue of foster care?

Hello! My husband and I completed our home study for adoption, but complete another section if you want to serve as foster parents (until they are placed with a child for adoption). Have you ever been a parent at home? I think it can be a little too emotional to be, but I am very willing to try …. that full adoption, but we feel like we can prepare for the promotion of a situation and possible adoption, foster care, if the child becomes available, we are on the run "for possible investments ….. I am a bit nervous about the child / Children for years and then have returned to their biological family ….. What should we expect? Any stories good or bad? Thanks! John: You're too good for words! You're a special person and I enjoy reading all your answers to my questions. I can not write, but I hope to be able to read this. Always seem put a smile on my face! Thank you and bless you!

I'm not a foster parent, but we know better, and live within walking distance of the most amazing foster parents. My experience is limited, but what I wanted to offer a quick thought, and something I heard at home many parents must remember that through the use a foster parent is to provide a safe, stable home, but that reunification with their parents is a priority, and as a foster parent, you need to work for that happen. I'm not saying do not! I know that many foster parents who adopt have had great experiences, and I know his sons amazing too – proof that it can be surprising (difficult, but beautiful). But being a foster parent is different from being a foster parent, not necessarily can prepare you for the other.

Pregnant? Adoption is an option

Several years ago I wrote an article that is still valid today. I updated a few things. Here is the article:

Adoption is an option

Each 750,000 years unmarried teenage girls become pregnant.

Of these, 32% opt for abortion,

while less than 4% to their babies for adoption.

Abortion or adoption! The killing or abandonment! I'm so confused! Jill thought she got off the bus from downtown. My friends say that keeping the baby, but would … the future of an innocent fetus is in my hands.

Jill froze in front of the adoption agency of the door. I can not do that, she thought she turned, slipped hands in his pockets, and hurried back to the bus stop time to drown out the exhaust of the buses start to leave.

I give something for a night with Michael, Jill wanted, while fanning the smoke of her face. But here I am, 16 years old, single and six months pregnant. Responsibility. Well, I blew that night. But I can breathe again. Tears welled in her eyes and turned to Jill. I can do "and swallowed, blinked, took a deep breath and walked through the door marked "alternatives to abortion -. Specializing in open adoption"

"Hi, how I can help you? "asked the receptionist adoption agency.

"I need information on adoption," said Jill, an aspiration smell back and looking around the room a soft glow. "Nobody knows I'm here, so if you please, I can talk to someone now same? "

"Of course, having a seat," said the receptionist, presented a box of tissues to Jill. "A counselor the reception will be with you shortly.

"Hi, my name is Barbara," said the director's home, as they shook hands with Jill. "For Please take a seat and get comfortable. "

Comfortable? It is thought, Madam, my jaw joints are shrug about to explode. But out loud he just said "Thank You" and sank into a chair or low.

"What I can do to help you, Jill? He asked the counselor.

"Well, I have your name from my pastor," said Jill. Then, He cleared his throat. "I do not know … I always felt sorry for the children who were adopted. It's like if your parents threw them at the time of birth. They were never seen and never knew they seemed. But if my pastor right about adoption is different now, I think it might be the best option for my baby. "Jill's voice cracked." I do not want my baby to grow up in single-parent family as I did, "he said and took a big breath.

"Okay, Jill, said the adviser, since slid her chair and leaned forward towards her. "I'll give you an idea of what adoption means and what support and assistance the agency can provide making plans for the future of your baby.

"An open adoption allows you to choose the adoptive family for your baby. Is shown that resumes from our families, home environments could provide happy, loving and stable. Of course, adoptive parents are selected for criminal history and child abuse, "said the counselor.

"I can meet people?" Jill asked.

"Yes, you can choose to meet face to face. You can choose the amount of contact and participation to speak with the adoptive parents as your baby grows and continue your education, work and life plans. Our organization can act as an intermediary for you to send and receive photos and letters, or you can have direct contact with the adoptive parents, if you choose.

"A Once your child as an adult, he or she will have the opportunity to join our agency. So you're relationship with your child is never completely broken, if elected this option in the loving care and adoption. "

"Okay, so you can decide," said Jill. "But what about the baby's father? "

"Good question, Jill, said the adviser, reaching behind his desk brochures." We encourage the participation the biological father and grandparents were born in the adoption process. You have all the counselors and support groups available throughout the pregnancy and after baby placed. And everyone wants to meet other Those who have experienced open adoption. Here is some information to the biological father and grandparents of birth. "

"What if I change my mind and want to have my baby?" Asked Jill.

"We're here to help with decision making, Jill. You can change your plan at any time during your pregnancy, "said the director." We provide information on pregnancy, adoption and parenting children. We can make referrals to doctors and the provisions for housing and financial assistance. "

"Do I have to pay anything to me same, "said Jill while sliding the handkerchief in his pocket.

"Medical costs, legal fees and expenses are paid by parents adoptive parents. There are layers, but we can advise whether your needs are taken into account. There is no cost financial services to this organization. "

"And if I find a family of my own? "said Jill.

"Our agency can help in this situation as well, and still no charge from our services. Our goal is to help you plan your future and the future of your baby if you take the decision to become single mothers or open adoption, "said the adviser, as it has reached in his desk drawer on the right. "Here is a brochure for you, Jill, that describes what we say."

Still I do not know what to do, he thought. But the last bus is 10 minutes. "Well, I guess I have to think of all this. It is a decision important and quite scary. "Jill got into the chair." Thanks for the information and brochures. "

"You're Welcome, Jill" the lawyer said, patting the shoulder of the girl. "We have selected the decision to give your love life Baby, Jill, and I

feel your child can enjoy if the parents themselves or make an adoption plan.

"Call or visit any time. We are here to help," said the advisor to open the door Jill.

Help If you are single and pregnant

Prenatal care and counseling are important to you and your baby. As So, get help or principles. Objective and training for counselors can provide support during this period of stress.

Where Started:

  • Start with a trusted adult, a parent, brother, minister, counselor, doctor, social worker or psychologist. Ask for references from recognized organizations on adoption.
  • Ask the reference librarian at your local library to help them find books about pregnancy and adoption, and the names of social service agencies and numbers.
  • Look in the Yellow Pages under "Adoption" or "abortion alternative. "

What to look for in an organization:

1. Do you offer information and advice on the adoption and opening for parents and abortion?

2. It is an Individual and group counseling available throughout the pregnancy and adoption planning? Will provide support during childbirth and during the mourning period after the separation from her child?

3. Counselors are available to support groups birth grandparents and birth father?

child adoption agency
As to-be father, my partner tries to give the baby up for adoption. What I can do to keep my child?

I felt that if parents are willing to take the child, the child can not be given up for adoption. My partner is waiting at the end of March, and I recently discovered that she was planning a private adoption agency to give the baby. I want the others to keep the child. What rights do I have, and it can really give your baby when me and my family are willing to care for the child? I live Georgia, so worth it.

No, legally, can not give your child away without your consent and you and your family has the right to raise her son. However, there are many adoption agencies and slimy lawyers trying to circumvent the law's adoption. Even if you are in GA, you can work with an agency in another state. It is also possible that she is lying about the paternity of the child to deny parental rights. Get a lawyer. In addition, you must document that the support of her pregnancy in a way. Are you helping to care? It will help to provide financial support, if not in a position of work? In many states your rights may be terminated if you have written documentation that it supports pregnancy. Lawyers know this and use it against him. Good luck.
