Given the birth rate among animals, it is not difficult to understand why animal shelters are always full of animals waiting for adoption. It's shocking, it was estimated that over a period of seven years, one female cat and her offspring will produce approximately 420 000 kittens. Similarly, a dog and her offspring produce 67,000 puppies in six years. As no more animals looking for homes than there are people who want to adopt, some 6.5 million animals are slaughtered each year.
Given the statistics cited above, the adoption of a pet can be a kind and loving thing to do. However, before the final decision to adopt, there are several things to consider.
Many of the animals awaiting adoption in shelters have been very weak start. Some have been abused, some abandoned and others were "delivered" because the owners did not have time for them. Many have been left alone for long periods and some have never been trained pot. In short, when adopting a pet, you must be willing to work with them. You can come to intimidate you or feelings of anxiety and perhaps too sensitive to your tone of voice or of any order that you can give them. You need to be patient and by all means and loving. When finally realize that they can trust you, they will reward you with more affection and loyalty that you can imagine.
Adopt a dog a way to get a young child is not recommended. A dog is not a toy and should not be treated as such. Young children should be trained to understand the "label of animals. "In other words, animals should not be beaten, dragged mounted or in jest. must understand that being too aggressive with a new dog, especially a recently adopted, could make the dog bite to react or escape. If diet and exercise the dog must be the responsibility of a child, an adult must be supervised so that these things happen. This is not the fault of the dog if a child does not meet its obligations and the dog should not have to suffer from child failure.
Many dogs adopted it comes to the new environment filled with fears based on severe abuse before or rules of their former owners. Some dogs are reluctant to move from room to room another, will shy away when corrected and hide after they heard a loud noise. The new owners must be patient with them and talk softly and tenderly. Dogs are not fools and little by little come to understand their new environment and show your appreciation for your concern.
When considering adoption, prospective new owners should be prepared to deal with the fact that her new adopted son can not be entirely familiar. The former owners have been irresponsible in their approach to this training also when the dog got away continued to do their "business" right to the pen. Burglary is a complex task and should not prevent someone from adopting a pet. Some owners use a crate to help with this training, while others only take the dog for a walk several times a day. fenced yard and dog door are the minimum rates paid extra dividends or cold rainy days.
adopted dogs are subject to all the behavioral problems commonly associated with dogs in general. These include digging, jumping on people, jumping fences, barking and biting. There are proven solutions to all these crimes. "If your dog tends still digging and digging in a field, there are a number of applications as deterrents work well. If digging in the fence, to bury a fence to break worked wonders the habit. spray bottles filled with water must be kept on hand to break a dog jumping to combat incessant barking. A quick squirt in the face, immediately followed or during, the offensive behavior usually leads to a rapid change in behavior.
Visit an animal shelter can be an emotional experience for lover of animals. It is difficult to see all the animals in their pens and do not want to take them all home. These feelings are understandable and laudable, however, just make sure before the adoption takes into account all the ramifications. And remember, your best friend waiting for you at your animal shelter.
